The Trustees meet regularly and discuss applications and can give grants to applicants to help pay for goods, services or facilities and financial assistance to help alleviate hardship. Over the last couple of years, the Trust has helped individuals in many different ways to improve their quality of life, such as:
Hardship Grants
- A recent grant was made to a print worker to purchase a new oven, as she was moving into unfurnished accommodation, and due to her financial situation, needed help towards getting things sorted out.
- Another recent example was a print finisher who was looking to retrain, and needed assistance in purchasing equipment for the course. The Trust was able to assist her in purchasing a computer she needed for a training course which would help secure new employment.
Living Assistance Grants
- Grants have been given towards the cost of stair lifts, mobility scooters, outside ramps, bath and walk in showers etc., to enable people to stay in their own homes.
- Grants have also helped to pay for respite and convalescent breaks for both individuals and their families.
